Structure…

By alfrescowithsugar

Time flies and the for the last days not much time has been spent on this project. Until today when we formally defined the project scope:

Release 1

  1. Create document in Alfresco from Sugar
  2. List documents in SugarCRM
  3. Create realtion between a document in Alfresco and a Sugar ‘object’
  4. Delete a document in Alfresco from SugarCRM
  5. Check out/in documents from SugarCRM
  6. Search a document stored in Alfresco from SugarCRM
  7. Create SugarCRM content model
  8. Alfresco space structure
  9. Dashlet in Share that summarizes the current users Sugar interests
  10. Dashlet in Share that retrieves information about the Sugar documents stored in Alfresco

Release 2

  1. Folder structure in Alfresco reflecting the structure in SugarCRM
  2. SSO between Alfesco and SugarCRM
  3. Remove the IDs in the Sugar documents module
  4. Create folders in Alfresco from SugarCRM
  5. Create JSF component to view referenced SugarCRM docs in Alfresco Explorer

Everything might not be completely clear but the main points are:

  • We are initially going to store Alfresco node-ids in SugarCRM (because the design of Sugar modules let us save a lot of time this way). The goal is to later remove this dependency and only have references from Alfresco to SugarCRM.
  • The goal for release 1 is two-fold: First to be able to manage document stored in Alfresco from SugarCRM, secondly to create some sort of dashlet in Share that presents a summary of SugarCRM in the current users context.

    Hi there,

    interesting project.
Until now I used “zuckerdocs” – another knowledge tree implementation for sugarcrm.
But Alfresco would be great as it is much more accessible.
If you need any help let me know.
I did a lot of SOAP cross implementing for sugar, maybe I can help you out some time?

    Hi,
Very pleased to hear of the work you are doing to link Alfresco and SugarCRM.
Is there any more info on timescales for initial code release for this project? I have a current project which is looking to integrate Alfresco, SugarCRM and Joomla. Are you interested in beta testers and/or help? Look forward to hearing from you
    Best
    Mike

    Is this effort still active?

    • alfrescowithsugar Says:

It is, but currently we are short on people and the pace is not very high… Also I think we are focusing more on making the integration with Alfresco Share compared to the original plans were Alfresco Explorer were the prmiary target.

I’m very interested in your progress on this. I have an upcoming project which may require this integration.
Perhaps my project could serve to speed up development on this integration.
Please email me. I would love to discuss further collaboration with you.
